Thornbury Lodge was established at Baulkham Hills in 1958. It was a receiving Home for children and infants and was set up to increase facilities for children in transit from foster homes to hospitals, institutions or other placements.
Thornbury Lodge housed 30 preschool-aged children. Initially Thornbury Lodge housed just girls but by the 1970s boys were also accepted. The Home closed around 1990.
