On the 4th May 1957 St Michael’s Church of England War Memorial Children’s Home was officially opened at Kelso, just outside of Bathurst.  The Home was opened by the Anglican Youth Council and Children’s Home Council of the Bathurst Anglican Diocesan Synod.

The complex consisted of three homes:  one was for children of kindergarten age, the second one for older boys and the third for older girls.  The older girl’s Home was also known as St Michael’s Girls Anglican Home.

The Home closed around 1970.
