St Magdalen’s Refuge Buckingham Street Surry Hills (Strawberry Hills) was established by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. It provided short term accomodation and assistance to girls over the age of 12 years. In 1903 it accomodated women at Cleveland House. In 1936 the Buckingham Street Refuge became an aged care home.
