St Elizabeth’s Girls Home was originally situation at Mayfield, first as a hostel – 1923 – 1926, then as a Home for orphan and destitute girls.  It was relocated to Singleton in 1942.  It was run by the Sisters of the Community of the Holy Name from 1928 – 1937 and then by the Church Army.
