Minali Receiving Home was situated at Joseph Street, Lidcombe. It was established by the Department of Youth and Community Services in 1975, due to the overcrowding at the Bidura and Royleston shelters in Glebe.
The intention of the home was to provide cottage care for 60 boys and girls to enable children of the same family to be housed together. This was done in response to the decision of the Minister for Community Services. In 1985, the Superintendent was Jason Slaven. The Home had a full time psychologist on Staff.
Minali closed in 1998.
