Weroona is located in Woodford.  19 Woodford Avenue is the original building and the original 13 acres have been subdivided.  It was opened as place of temporary care for pre-school in 1946.  In 1947 it was changed to a home for boys of later primary age.

In 1959 Weroona was rebuilt after the bushfires of 1957 and reopened by the Department of Child Welfare as a boys home.  In 1984 Weroona closed as a boys home.
