The Sunshine Boys’ Hostel was established in May 1959 and provided a transitional home for boys between the ages of 14 and 18 who had left high school and had entered their first jobs. The boys paid for board with what they could and the rest was subsidised by Victorian Children’s Welfare Department. This information is from a Heritage Gaps Report by the City of Brimbank dated 10 January 2014 from pages 19-20.
