The orphanage opened 18th November 1906.  (The foundation stone had been laid on 27th Agust 1905).  This replaced a previous orphanage in Clinton St, Goulburn.  The orphanage closed in October 1974 when the remaining girls were transfered to “cottage homes” in Auburn Street.  In 1976 brothers of the girls joined them in the cottages.
