Also known as the Salvation Army Boys’ Home, Ipswich.
In 1898 the Training Farm was established under the Reformatories and Industrial Schools Act.
In 1911, it was transferred to the State Childrens’ Department under the State Children’s Act. It was then closed in 1926 and re-opened in 1935 as the Home for Boys, Riverview.
In 1966 / 7 it was renamed as Training Farm for Boys, then in 1969 / 70 it was again renamed to Endeavour Training Farm.
It finally ceased to operate under the Children Services Act, when its license was cancelled in 1977.
This Home was also a large part of the Child Migrant Scheme.
