Aka Havilah Little Children’s Home, was in Carlingford (1945 – 1950’s).
The Home was established in a house called Havilah at Normanhurst in 1918 by the Church of England Diocese of Sydney. It was a home for infant children aged under six years. Havilah Little Children’s Home was established by the Homes and Hostels Committee of the Home Mission Society, which in 1930 merged with the Church of England Homes. Havilah moved to ‘Sevenoaks’ at Carlingford next to the Church of England Boys’ Home, in 1950. The Sevenoaks property was renamed Havilah. In the 1970s Havilah became a group home. It closed around 1980 and the property was sold.
