Westbrook was 15 kilometres southwest of Toowoomba. It was a state-run reformatory for boys under the age of 18 who were confined by a court order. Until 1919, the Home was known as the Westbrook Reformatory for Boys.
It later became known as Westbrook Training Centre. In the 1960s, the Westbrook Farm Home for Boys changed its name to the Westbrook Training Centre. In 1986, it was renamed to the Westbrook Youth Detention Centre. Westbrook in 1994.
