Estcourt House started out as a Home for the aged and / or the visually impaired but soon started admitting children bettween the age of 4 and 12.  Eventually, the Home developed close associations with Adelaide Childrens’ Hospital who referred children from the Hospital to the Home, and who eventually took over the Home in 1955.
