The Elizabeth Fry Retreat located in South Yarra Victoria, was established in 1884 by Quakers, as a home for female ex-prisoners. The Melbourne City Mission took over the Retreat in 1943. The Retreat offered a home for ‘friendless and wayward women and girls’.
Was renamed Swinborn Lodge in 1957.
