Dunedin Boys’ Home

Dates: 1928-1991

This home opened in 1928 on the site of the former Industrial School. It was originally known as the Boys’ Receiving Home – Receiving Homes admitted children and screened them for further suitable placement.

The boys home closed in 1991 when Elliot Street became a mixed-sex home.
