Also known as: Beaconsfield Babies’ Home.

Located in Kenilworth House, built for Charles Knott c 1890.  The Berry Street Foundling Home took over the property in 1913.  The Babies’ Home was closed in 1946 and the mansion fell into a state of disrepair before being demolished in 1963.  The old Coach House (not visible in the picture) still remains.  The surrounding lands and Coach House were sold to developers but after community protest an application to demolish the ‘Old Coach House’ was rejected by Cardinia Shire Council.  Miss Primrose was in charge in 1939.  Note the chapel in the far corner on the left-hand side.
